How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 6–12 months out, and peak Saturdays (May–October) go first. Since we only take one wedding per day, the sooner you check your date, the better.
Do you MC and make announcements?
Yes — Ethan handles all introductions, toasts, and timeline cues with a warm, professional presence. No cheesy “DJ voice,” ever.
Can we pick the music?
Absolutely. After you book, you get planning forms to share must-plays, do-not-plays, and special songs. Ethan builds your soundtrack and reads the room live, taking tasteful requests on the night.
Do you carry insurance and backup gear?
Yes — $2,000,000 liability coverage (venues can request a certificate) and backup equipment on site at every event for total peace of mind.
Where do you travel?
Icon DJ is based in Santa Cruz and performs most often across San Jose & the South Bay, Monterey & Carmel, and San Francisco. Travel within 25 miles of Santa Cruz is included; beyond that it is simply quoted by distance. We also take Los Angeles dates and destination weddings worldwide.
